Tando Adam (Urdu: ٹنڈو آدم خان) is a town in Sindh, Pakistan. This city was founded by Adam Khan Mari Balouch. In balochi Tando stand for a little village. Till 1955 it was in District Nawab Shah (Now Known as Benazeerabad) thereafter it was included in District Sanghar. There is a Khair Muhammad Village that is named after Khair Muhammad Mari Balouch who was the grand son of Adam Kahn. In 1947 its population was only SEVEN THOUSANDS.

Some time the Politics remain in the hands of Mari Balouch and well know is Dawood Khan Mari who remain Mair of the City. Latter on Waryah Family rise in Politics. People probably still know the Name of Faqeer Ghulam Hussain.Muhammd Sharif Waryah and Abdullah Waryah son of Taj Muhammad Waryah. later on Jonejo Family Rise in Politics. Shah Nawaz Jonejo, Ghulam Qadir Jonejo started rise and remain in active politics. This city also remain Unde influance of Jam Family who reside near by Berani in Jam Goth. I do remember in 1970 near Railway station there was a Benglow of Jam Sadiq Ali Former Cheif Minister of Sindh wher usually Jam Sadiq Ali, Jam Anwar Ai and Jam Karam Ali have meetings with people to resolve their problems.From 1969 to 1977 there was PPP a active party. Muhammad Sharif Waryah remain President PPP Tando Adam. Mahmood Alam Soomro was President of SPAF Tando Adam whereas Abdullah Waryah was the President of SPAF District Sanghar. After 1977 scenario changed but even now a days this city is under political influence of Jonejo family. The son of Shah Nawaz Jonejo Mr Roshan Jonejo is now in political field.
There were Sindhi School,Mevarh School, Tedam High School, Shah Abdul Latif High School,Jinnah Girls High School and New Aligarh College.
The town has many emerging industries like Mian cotton factory, Jugnu Match, Jugnu cotton ginning, Ismail jee is considered to be the trade hub of the district. Tando Adam has the biggest power loom industry in Pakistan. Besides this, numerous fruit juice, paper products, cotton ginning and cottage industries also contribute to the national exchequer. Tando Adam is a economic center for District Sanghar. There was a textle mill and Fazal Flour Mill. Tanveer Textile Mill was founded in 1954 by Mehboob Elahi and Muhammad Sadiq Maghoon, from Chiniot.This mill become totally sick in 1982 and thereafter slowly it ended. Its' labour mostly was from Jatia Para. There are 20+ Cotton ginning factories.
It also contains many educational institutions. It is famous for its foods, including "sajji" which is exported all over the world. Beside it Badayoon-e-pera of Hafiz are also famous, having real test of Badayoon, India. It is a fact that such testy Badayoon -e- Peras are not available any where in Pakistan.
The major business areas are linked with Muhammad Ali Jinnah Road. Muhammadi Chowk is the transit hub for proceeding to Hyderabad via the national highway.
Tando Adam has produced so many vocalists, actors, film director and artists. This city is known for 2 reason one RAAN ( called Saji) and Ustad Manzoor Ali Khan. Saji is signature food items of the city. Ustad Manzoor Ali Khan is the only singer from Sindhi Music who received pride of performance award from Government of Pakistan. He simplified Sindhi Kaafi ( sufi verses) into simplified form with a fusion of classical music. He worked on so may Sindhi Ragas with highest level of expertise. His services for Sindhi Music has made him a legend in Sindhi Music History. His work was followed by Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan in national and international level. We people from Tando Adam very proud of him. His family members still live in Tando Adam City.His Son in law who was also born in Tando Adam, Ustad Fateh Ali Khan, has been conferred with Pride of Performance and Sitara-e- Imtiaz by the Government of Pakistan. His other Son in law, Mr. Piaro Khan has remained SDM of Tando Adam and caused so many civic problems of the city with keen interest. tando adam is a city of peace and it is well known for the hafiz badaiyoon peraas , halwa poori , and and milk of mastana also famous chaat of jumman jatti .
